Angie...this was a great post! I've really enjoyed reading what each of you have written over at incourage me! : )

To answer your question about Daisy, and please keep in mind that this is digging WAY back in the archives here (10th grade was long, long, long ago)....I think she was named Daisy because of her beauty, and the symbolism of daisy's being white and white means purity. If I'm wrong, don't tell anyone. They'll take away my Bachelors in English degree : )

Oh sweet Ang...another incredible post, friend. WoW! Your words are amazing and always bring me back to where I need to be ~ waiting with JOY and CONFIDENCE, knowing that HE knows ALL of the plans he has set before us and the paths that will lead us to where He wants us to go. :)

Thank you so much for sharing such inspiring words. I'm blessed to call you friend.

    Love and Hugs,
    Jess :)

I remember the very first book my teacher made me read and that opened my love for books. I was in 3rd grade and she bought me Little House in the Big Woods. Not the great literature of our time, but it developed a deep love for reading. I pray my son finds it as well. So far, not so much.

    Off to read your post.

You should read the book Feathers by Jacquelin Woodson. It's a quick read because it's a pretty short children's book, but I think you'll love it!

So I just read this to my 8th grade reading public school class as a part of my speech on developing a LOVE for reading. And, got some JESUS in there too!!! I was reading your blog just before they came in the door, and without thinking, I just pressed print and read your words to their little ears!! A divine appointment for sure, the Lord blesses you words!!

PS: I also talked up how much I love reaading your writing, so you may have an increase of 13 year olds reading your blog : )

As a teacher, I so appreciate your memory about what inspired your love for reading and the written word. I too remember my favorite book when I was a child. It was The Boxcar Children. Your blog has had so much comfort to me in the last few weeks, since we lost our infant daughter when she was three days old. We knew she was sick before her birth with Trisomy 18, much like you knew about Audrey. We were able to get so much joy from our brief time with her, and your words have helped me so much. I have weeped with you as I've read about Audrey and thought about my daughter, Faith, but I have also laughed out loud at your words about how normal life often feels in the midst of chaos. Thank you so much...I look forward to reading your words everyday.

Angie, I'm not sure what I love most about this post! You touched my heart as an English major in teaching me something about literature and in quoting my favorite poet ever--Ms. Dickinson. And if that wasn't enough, you reminded me that my human idea of hope is nowhere near God's idea of hope. Angie Smith, you rock my face off!

Thank you Angie. I love your connection with great literature. It reignited some wonderful memories of great books and poems that have carried me to many distant places. I love the poetry reference and will add it to my collection. I have actually just added daily poetry reading to our homeschool lessons :)

Hope is what keeps me going and pushes me back into the arms of my Savior every time.

Your laugh is definitely NOT obnoxious. It's contagious! I have to laugh every time I hear you laugh!

Thanks for sharing. You encouraged me (as always)!! :)

Would you please say a prayer for my family this week? We feel like God is leading us to adopt and we took a huge step of faith and submitted an application. We were shocked that we got accepted from over 100 families waiting for the last slot! Now we need to pay our first deposit when we sign the contract one week from today. We are asking God to provide if this is His plan. Would you pray for us? Thank you!!

I'm an English teacher who is thinking to teaching The Great Gatsby to my juniors this year in American Lit. Your blog reached out to me. I love the book club idea and joyously laughed at the video-- wonderful moments like spontaneous laughter with a friend are such blessings!

Angie, I am a new follower of yours...a long time follower of our Jesus Christ! I just want you to know that you have been gifted with the incredible ability to share your heart in a very sensitive way. Thank you. In regarding today's posting, I was touched and as I sit here with tears in my eyes, I just had to say, May God continue to bless and encourage you. May you continue to seek His will, and may you continue to share those things that have touched your heart with others.
